Peter is a Partner at GE Healthcare Finnamore with many years' experience of implementing operational change and transformation. Peter founded The Change Works in 1992 and The Health Works in 2004, merging these companies with Finnamore Management Consultants to form Finnamore Limited in 2009 (now GE Healthcare Finnamore). Peter has helped companies of all sizes to design and implement performance breakthrough improvements successfully.
Peter has specialist knowledge of quality and safety, cost reduction, operations improvement, project management and change management. He is a recognised leader in translating industrial thinking into health, including: concepts of balancing supply and demand; analytical methods for reviewing pathways; and the interventions required to effect cultural change focused on providing safe experiences for patients. He is Finnamore’s lead Director for quality and safety.
Peter has worked for health economies and trusts on cost reduction, capacity planning, commissioning, demand management, turnaround and performance transformation assignments. He has directed operationally-led service improvements for over 30 Trusts, PCTs and Foundation Trusts over the previous eight years.
Peter has also supported organisations such as Agfa, Rolls-Royce, Airbus, CSIRO, Clifford Chance and Unilever in the design, development and implementation of a wide range of changes including strategic, operational, process redesign, organisational development and critical systems implementation.
For the Plymouth health system, Peter is working with all system stakeholders to inform the shape change for the care economy - whilst meeting the PHNT IBP timeline.
For Outer North West London Sub-cluster, Peter managed work to identify opportunities of up to £52m gross savings when mapped against existing PCT QIPP initiatives. This involved Borough Directors, Finance and CCG Chairs to communicate findings. Peter is now directing work to identify QIPP opportunities for 2012/13 to 2014/15 for NHS Brent and NHS Harrow.
